Ford Motor Co. will today introduce upgrades to its Super Duty pickups, including a new diesel engine and a strengthened F-450 truck for the 2015 model year.

The Dearborn automaker will show off the upgrades at the State Fair of Texas.

Rival automaker General Motors Co. also is expected to reveal new heavy-duty pickups today at the fair.

Ford will debut a second-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine for its 2015 Super Duty trucks — which should be available by spring — piggybacking on the original engine introduced in 2011.
