As May ends, and the auto industry starts to celebrate what will likely be another great month for sales, Ford has its own claim to fame.

It says it has sold more hybrids so far this year than in all of 2010, its previous highest year of sales for hybrids. That's interesting, and it shows that customers increasingly no longer view hybrids as exotic technology. They're just another way -- albeit an expensive one -- to save gas.
