Auto makers reported higher U.S. vehicle sales for November, led by Toyota Motor Corp.’s 17% year-over-year increase.

General Motors Co. posted a 3.4% rise and Ford Motor Co. a 6.5% increase, while Chrysler Group LLC’s November sales rose 14%

Ford also said it plans to build 750,000 vehicles in the first quarter, an 11% increase from a year earlier, while affirming its fourth-quarter target of 725,000 vehicles.

Broadly, U.S. new auto sales for November are expected to rise 11% from a year earlier and 1.4% from the prior month, according to Edmunds.com. The car-shopping website had projected year-over-rises of 5.5% for GM, 3% for Ford, 13% for Chrysler and 18% for Toyota.
