Chevrolet today announced its sponsorship of Manchester United’s first‑ever match in Michigan – August 2 vs. Real Madrid at the University of Michigan’s “Big House” in Ann Arbor.

Manchester United will wear Chevrolet-branded shirts during the match, which is part of the club’s 2014-15 pre-season schedule.  Chevrolet kicks off its seven-year shirt sponsorship with Manchester United on July 1.

The match, presented by Chevrolet, is part of the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup and will be played in Michigan Stadium, the largest stadium in the United States, with an official capacity of 109,901.  The match could break the record for the largest crowd ever for a football match in the United States.  The record was set during the 1984 Olympic Summer Games when 101,799 people watched France defeat Brazil 2-0 in the gold medal match at the Rose Bowl.
