WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Automotive Policy Council President Matt Blunt issued the following statement on the American Manufacturing Initiative launched by Senator Chris Coons (D-DE).

“The Manufacturing Jobs for America initiative highlights the importance of manufacturing in the United States. American manufacturers have led the economic comeback over recent years and will continue to do so in the future by developing new technologies and practices while relying on traditional American know how and innovation.

“Chrysler, Ford and GM appreciate the Senators’ recognition of domestic manufacturing and the important role it plays in the U.S. economy. Efforts to recognize and boost American manufacturing and help create American jobs are important not only in the United States, but also help American workers compete in a global economy."
