Let’s Drive NYC is available to eligible residents of The Ritz Plaza, a 479-unit luxury apartment building at Times Square in midtown Manhattan, owned and managed by Stonehenge Partners.

General Motors Plans Drive Into Autonomous Cars

Executives told an investor meeting that GM hoped to have a driverless Chevy Volt ready for next year's event.

Technology for the car will be developed through partnerships with companies such as Mobileye, the Israeli software specialist.

The move will be financed in part from a three-year cost-cutting plan covering manufacturing and administration.

The move is in part a reaction to competition from companies such as Tesla and Google, whose plans for autonomous vehicles are well advanced.

Portland Police To Replace Ford Crown Vics With All-Wheel-Drive Suvs

By next spring, nearly half of Portland's patrol officers will be cruising in small all-wheel-drive SUVs.

Portland police are slowly swapping out their worn-out Crown Victoria sedans for a new ride that looks like a cross between a Ford Taurus sedan and a Ford Explorer.

The bureau will ask for City Council approval Wednesday to replace 70 patrol cars with the utility version of the 2016 Ford Interceptor.

The estimated $2.3 million cost will come from the city's 2015-16 fleet vehicle budget.

GM Has 4 In The Running For Car Of The Year Semifinals

General Motors Co. has four cars in the running for the 2016 North American Car & Truck of the Year, according to a list of semifinalists that has been released.

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. has three vehicles in the running on the short list, while Toyota Motor Corp., Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Mazda Motor Corp. and Kia Motors Corp. each have two.

Ford Kicks Off In Detroit As Jerome Bettis Visits Renaissance High

Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015 inductee Jerome Bettis will be honored in his hometown of Detroit on Tuesday, Sept. 29 – kicking off the fall schedule of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Hometown Hall of Famer program presented by Ford.

Bettis grew up in Detroit and attended Mackenize High School but that school has closed and replaced by Mackenzie Middle School. Tuesday’s community tribute will take place at Renaissance High School.
