American Automakers Mark One Year Anniversary of CHIPS Act; Urge Greater Focus on Automotive Grade Semiconductors
Washington, D.C. – American Automakers Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Stellantis today marked the one-year enactment of the CHIPS Act, and urged a continued focus on strengthening America’s domestic supply chains for auto-grade semiconductors.
“As we mark the one-year anniversary of the enactment of the CHIPS Act, American Automakers commend the administration and congressional leaders who were instrumental to its passage. No industry was more impacted by semiconductor shortages than the auto industry, and the bipartisan effort to address this issue was an important step forward. As the CHIPS Act is implemented, it is vital to prioritize the types of automotive grade semiconductors that are needed by American workers to build vehicles in the United States,” said Governor Matt Blunt, president of AAPC.
