AAPC Statement on House Passage of USMCA

Washington, D.C. – Governor Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council, today issued the following statement after the House passed the USMCA:

“House passage of the USMCA is a huge step toward finalizing this long-awaited 21st century trade agreement.

“This modernized trade deal between our North American trading partners will strengthen the U.S. auto industry and the auto manufacturing supply chain.  With its provisions addressing currency and acceptance of U.S. standards, the USMCA should serve as a blueprint for future trade agreements between the U.S. and our trading partners.

“We urge the Senate to pass this modernized trade agreement without delay and send it to President Trump for ratification.”

The American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) is a Washington, D.C. association that represents the common public policy interests of its member companies FCA US LLC, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Company.
