Manufacturing Industry Leaders Come Together to Urge Currency Manipulation Fix
Greensboro, N.C. – On August 20, 2014 at 12 P.M., association presidents from the textile, auto and steel industries will participate in a press conference calling for government representatives to address unfair currency policies in ongoing international trade talks and future trade agreements, to protect American jobs and economic growth.
Who: Augustine Tantillo, president of National Council of Textile Organizations; Governor Matt Blunt, president of American Automotive Policy Council; Thomas J. Gibson, president and CEO of American Iron and Steel Institute
What: Address the need to include strong and enforceable currency manipulation disciplines in all future trade agreements, and the impact of such a rule on North Carolina’s 42,300 textile industry jobs and the state’s overall economic growth.
