In an unexpected, but interesting partnership, General Motors and LG today revealed they're working together on the development of the Chevy Bolt. This electric vehicle, which will reportedly launch in 2017 for $30,000, is expected to last over 200 miles on a single charge -- a lot more than the 2016 Volt hybrid. GM says LG's expertise in battery technology was a key factor to deem it a worthy associate, having previously worked with the South Korean company on the original Chevy Volt.

Leaders Farms has been entertaining Midwestern families and local schools for 18 years with challenging corn mazes that can take up to an hour to complete – assuming visitors don’t get lost in the wheels.

Spirits were high Monday at General Motors Co.’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant, as workers celebrated Chevrolet Camaro production officially returning to the United States for the first time since 1992.
“It’s here. The American muscle car comes back home to Lansing,” said United Auto Workers Local 652 President Mike Green to the cheers of workers. “We’ve been talking about this for four or five years now.”

Chevrolet dealers soon will see the sixth-generation Camaro on their lots.
General Motors said Monday the first wave of 2016 Camaros will leave the company’s assembly plant in Lansing, Mich., by the end of the week. The cars should arrive at dealerships for customer delivery by mid-November.
GM said the first Camaros to be shipped will be 6.2-liter, V-8-engine-powered SS coupes and 3.6-liter, V-6 engine LT coupes.
Production and shipment of the convertible and models with a 2.0-liter turbo engine will follow in early 2016.

General Motors Co. said Thursday it will add more than 1,200 jobs and nearly double the number of employees at its Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant as it adds a long-awaited second shift early next year.
The Detroit automaker said hiring is under way for the shift and the plant will have about 2,800 people when hiring is complete.
GM said the shift is necessary to meet demand for five vehicles the plant produces.

Ford Motor Co. will release an extremely limited number of special-edition Mustang GTs that get up to 727 horsepower — 20 more than Dodge’s popular Hellcat Charger and Challenger sports cars.
The Dearborn automaker partnered with NASCAR legend Richard Petty to create three Mustang GT King Edition pony cars. Only 300 — 243 King models, 43 King Premier models and 14 King Premier convertibles — will be built. The Mustangs will range from $67,495 to $90,495 and customers can now order them through their local Ford dealerships.

As the 11th FCA North American facility to receive bronze status, Kokomo Casting was awarded bronze after a two-day audit in which the plant earned a minimum of 50 points in 10 technical and 10 managerial pillars by demonstrating clear WCM know-how and competence through employee-conducted pillar presentations and a review of projects that have been implemented across the shop floor.
With Kokomo Casting’s award, there are now three Indiana plants in the bronze class. Indiana Transmission II and Kokomo Transmission each received the bronze designation in 2014.

Student athletes helped prep the athletes’ hand cycles for the rigors of marathon competition. A technical workshop was held Saturday in the GM Wintergarden.

Dodge Charger leads the modern day muscle car era with the most powerful factory-built 4-door passenger car on the planet.
The five-passenger rear-drive 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat harnesses 707 horsepower generated from a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 Hellcat engine.
Charger Hellcat is shipped straight from the assembly line to the showroom floor and buying public for a base price of $62,295.
Buyers also pay $995 for freight and a $1700 gas-guzzler tax.
At full throttle, Charger Hellcat will empty its 18.5 gallon fuel tank in 13 minutes.
