The American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) is disappointed that the negotiations between the United States and Brazil on cotton subsidies have so far failed to reach agreement and resulted in Brazil raising tariffs on cars and trucks imported from the United States.
We appreciate the action of the Brazilian government in suspending the decision on this matter for 30 days and urge both governments to continue these discussions and find a mutually acceptable resolution to this dispute before it creates serious harm to US automotive exports to Brazil.
The American Automotive Policy Council, Inc. (AAPC) is a Washington, D.C.- based non-profit trade association that represents the common public policy interests of its member companies: Chrysler Group LLC, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Company.
