The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 has been a hot topic lately with its extensive use of aluminum. However, that's not the only thing on this new truck that people should be talking about. Ford's new F-150 has five smart features that should become standard on all trucks.

Keyless Ignition

More than 72 percent of the vehicles on the road have a keyless ignition system. What makes up the other roughly 30 percent? Trucks mostly.

In the world of pickup trucks, the old-fashioned cut metal key is still king. This is slowly starting to change with Ram and now Ford switching to keyless ignition systems. Superior to cut metal keys in many ways (more convenient, more secure, more compact), keyless ignition systems don't have any sort of ignition switch failure concerns that lead to serious safety problems (see: GM, massive recall).
