Ram threw down the fuel economy gauntlet again on Tuesday at the North American International Auto Show by announcing that some versions of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel will get 29 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2015 Ram 1500 Express and the 2015 models will get 29 miles per gallon on the highway when they are purchased with an optional diesel engine. That is one mile per gallon more than other Ram 1500 pickups with the same engine.

More importantly, it extends Ram's fuel economy leadership in the half-ton pickup segment, giving the Ram brand even more to boast about in the fiercely competitive pickup truck wars between Fiat Chrysler, General Motors and Ford.
