A Texas police force has revved up their squad car pool by adding this luxury Corvette to the ranks.

And the New Braunfels Police Department added the $80,000 Chevy Corvette z06 thanks to their hard work countering drug dealing.

"We basically busted up a large methamphetamine trafficking ring,” New Braunfels Police Department communications coordinator David Ferguson told KENS5 Eyewitness News.

“This particular Corvette was determined by the court to be purchased using drug money.”

And a special message on the bumper — reading ‘This vehicle was seized from a Drug Dealer’ — adds an important message.

"It's kind of like a driving billboard for drug dealers and criminals saying 'Hey look, crime doesn’t pay,'" added Ferguson.

The car — nicknamed ‘Coptimus Prime’ — has won over locals who praised the police for their choice of vehicle.

"I think it’s awesome," Casey Keneese said.

But the car won’t be on the road fighting crime, and instead will be used to highlight positive police work in the community.
