The Clean Energy Patent Quarterly Crown [CEPQC] was awarded to General Motors for having exactly 40 clean energy patents in the last quarter of 2013. The CEPQC is distributed quarterly by the Clean Tech Group at Heslin, Rothernberg, Farley & Mesiti PC. The Clean Tech Group has been issuing this award in the U.S. since 2002 and according to a quarterly report issued last year, the CEPQC currently has a total of 757 U.S. granted patents. The CEPQC originally belonged to Toyota in the previous quarter but once again  GM concluded 2013 ahead of their competitors and ran away with the crown.
