Ford will use rice hulls in trucks to make them greener

Even big pickups want to be green these days.

Ford Motor Co. announced today that it will use 45,000 pounds of rice hulls annually as a replacement for a talc material in the electrical harnesses of Ford’s F-Series pickups.

Farms in Arkansas will provide the rice hulls, a byproduct of rice grain, Ford said.
