As charming as the current Ford Mustang Convertible is, it has some serious flaws—namely, a choppy ride and a thin top that lets too much noise into the cabin. Fortunately for sun-loving muscle-car fans, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible fixes those problems and then some.

For starters, it was engineered from day one to be a convertible, whereas the previous model was basically just a coupe with its top chopped off and a few structural enhancements added after the fact to compensate for the loss of structural integrity.

In plain terms, what this means is that Ford engineers were able to make the 2015 Mustang Convertible stiffer (with 13 percent better torsional rigidity, for all you car geeks who might be wondering). This accomplishes two key things: smooths out the ride by enabling the car’s suspension system to do its job better, and gets rid of the obnoxious flexing in the chassis transmitted to the cabin when driving over rough surfaces.
