DETROIT -- Ford Motor plans to add four new crossover SUVs to the lineup over the next few years, showing the degree to which the boxy people haulers are dominating the auto market.

Of the four, one of the SUVs will be for the Lincoln brand, said Ford CEO Mark Fields during a presentation at the North American International Auto Show going on here. With more consumers moving to luxury cars, Lincoln has been getting more attention in the last couple of years.

Raj Nair, head of global product development, confirmed the four will be additional models -- not just updates of existing ones sold in the U.S.
