FCA US, Ford and GM Autos Lead the Industry in 2018 Kogod Made in America Auto Index
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Governor Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council, issued the following statement on American University’s 2018 Kogod Made In America Auto Index:
“FCA US, Ford, and GM are committed to American workers as illustrated with this year’s findings. Our members have 10 of the Top 10 vehicles, 17 of the Top 20, and 19 of the Top 25. We have the top two trucks, top five SUVs, and top 10 cars. The US auto industry is critical to our economy, and American automakers are driving more growth and jobs in the auto manufacturing sector.
“The findings in this year's Made in America Index show FCA US, Ford and, GM are making key investments in American manufacturing. It is important that U.S. manufacturing be supported by sound trade policies that enable a competitive environment, including one that allows for a fair and level playing field for U.S. automakers and the thousands of workers they employ.”
