Chrysler Group LLC is expected to reveal refreshed versions of its Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars today at the New York International Auto Show featuring new sheet metal, new technology and the return of the Bumble Bee.

Dodge designers say they resculpted and refined nearly every body panel on the two cars, upgraded the interiors with more premium materials and added LED lighting to the front and rear.

The new Dodge Challenger gets even more than that, with a significant nod to the car’s legendary muscle car heritage.

“The iconic 1971 Challenger inspired the design of this modern-day muscle car, but the re-creation of this classic styling extends well beneath the surface of the sheet metal,” said Dodge brand president Tim Kuniskis. “We have completely re-engineered the Challenger with a new best-in-class 485 horsepower 392 Hemi and TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission powertrain, an upgraded suspension, new class-exclusive technologies and a completely new interior.”
