Chrysler Group LLC announced Monday that it will introduce a new compact van for the North American market sometime next year.
The 2015 Ram ProMaster City will be based on the Fiat Doblo, a two-time winner of the International Van of the Year award.
“The Ram ProMaster City further expands the Ram Commercial truck lineup, which includes everything from vans to pickups to Class 4 and 5 trucks,” said Ram brand president Reid Bigland. “As Ram Commercial continues to gain share and grow sales in the market, we will be aggressive in our goal of expanding our commercial vehicle offerings.”
The Doblo has been very successful in Europe and elsewhere around the world, with more than 1.3 million sold.
