General Motors Co. will show a Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne concept truck Monday at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas that features a lightweight carbon fiber truck bed and several parts from the yet-to-be-released 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.

Chevrolet earlier this year launched a new 2014 Silverado pickup and is expected to showcase several truck concepts at the trade-only show.

The Silverado Cheyenne concept builds on the new Silverado and features a high performance EcoTec3 6.2-liter V-8 engine and an enhanced performance exhaust helping it to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in about 5.3 seconds. The truck’s ride height has been lowered and handling and braking were boosted.

“We think this is going to be a highly competitive performance truck,” said Sandor M. Piszar, director of strategy and planning for GM performance vehicles and motorsports.
