As the holiday season sets in, many families often are pained with the loss of a loved one, especially from the armed forces. Wreaths Across America was started in 1992 to show support and help teach younger generations that “freedom isn’t free”, and Chevrolet will be backing the cause.
Beginning on December 12, Chevrolet will suit up a fleet of 2016 Chevrolet Tahoes and 2016 Chevrolet Silverados to journey from the Wreaths Across America headquarters in Maine, and travel to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. Along the way, Chevrolet employees, dealers and volunteers will donate more than 13,000 wreaths and help the organization accomplish its mission to remember, honor and teach during several stops at local schools and community centers.
In total, Chevrolet expects to place 700,000 wreaths when the journey is complete.
“We think it is so important to teach our younger generation that our freedoms are not free, and that the stories of our fallen and departed heroes should not be lost through the years,” said Dan Adamcheck, Chevrolet regional sales and marketing manager. “Laying those wreaths and paying tribute is a small way to show how grateful we are.”
