AAPC to Participate in Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Automotive Dialogue

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) will be attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Automotive Dialogue in Cebu, Philippines from August 26-29, 2015.

The Automotive Dialogue is a unique forum that brings automotive leaders from both the government and industry together biannually to discuss current automotive trends and developments and other subjects of common interest.

"Throughout the years, this forum has served as an important opportunity to exchange information and share different viewpoints of the numerous economies involved,” said Governor Matt Blunt. “Important developments are underway in the region, including the TPP negotiations, which make the APEC Automotive Dialogue's second meeting in 2015 so timely.”

Government and industry representatives from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Peru, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the United States are expected to attend the upcoming meetings.  The APEC Automotive Dialogue agenda topics in Cebu will include automotive taxation, safety and emissions regulations, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In addition to participating in the APEC meeting, the United States will be holding bilateral meetings with key economies and hosting a workshop on U.S. automotive regulations and certification processes.
