America's pony car is ready to run with the thoroughbreds.

The Ford Mustang is still affordable enough to be a college grad's first new car — prices start at $23,600 — but the all-new 2015 Mustang has the technology to compete with $50,000-plus luxury sport coupes from Audi, BMW and Lexus. Next to the Mustang, the Ford's traditional competitors — the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger — suddenly feel out of date.

Fifty years after the original 1965 Mustang created a uniquely American sporty car — and a class of competitors known as pony cars — the 2015 Mustang updates the formula for the 21st Century. It delivers unprecedented levels of safety, efficiency and comfort, while remaining a great value.
